The situation on the battlefield remains difficult. The enemy pays too high a price for minor successes in certain areas of the front. Every day the number of soldiers eliminated reaches about a thousand.

This was stated by the new NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during his first press conference in his new position today, October 1. He said that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia's losses among personnel killed and wounded amount to about 500 thousand.

Rutte spoke about Russia's losses in the war

Undoubtedly, Ukraine is waging this war of self-defense. I am absolutely amazed at how much Ukraine is doing. They have shown their courage, their creativity, they are pushing back Russian forces, – the new Secretary General of the Alliance emphasized.

According to him, as of today, the situation on the front remains difficult. On the one hand, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have occupied part of the Kursk region, but on the other hand, the Russian invaders have made some progress on the battlefield. However, they paid a high price for this.

“We also have the figures. Russian losses are 1,000 killed or wounded soldiers per day. This means that approximately 500,000 were killed or wounded. This is essential for the continuation of the Russian war,” Rutte noted.

The official also announced an increase in aid to our country “by billions.” Thus, already in October 2024, Western leaders will meet in the “Ramstein” format to discuss Kyiv's urgent needs and coordinate further support.
