The US Treasury has introduced new sanctions against more than 200 individuals and companies both from Russia and from other countries. The main criterion for accepting restrictions is assistance to the Kremlin in eliminating sanctions.

The West continues to support Ukraine, continuing to put pressure on the Russian military complex. Russia is not capable of building its own army on its own.

US sanctions

The United States of America announced a new package of sanctions against Russia. This list includes more than 150 people and companies from China, Turkey, the UAE and Asian countries – most of them are associated with the Russian military-industrial complex. These individuals financially support Russia and help it evade sanctions.

Our current sanctions continue to increase pressure on voluntary suppliers and networks from third countries providing Russia desperately needs resources to build up and support its military-industrial base, noted the head of the US Treasury Department.

Restrictions were also introduced in relation to a number of Russian individuals and legal entities, engaged in the import, production, modification and sale of defense and industrial technologies, drones, machines, parts, materials and components.

In addition, the US State Department has decided to impose sanctions against 100 people and companies. Among them are sanctions evaders in third countries involved in assisting Russia in waging war and responsible for Russia’s development in the production and export of energy resources.

Zelensky's visit to the USA

• After his visit to Argentina, Vladimir Zelensky went to the USA. The purpose of the visit is to resolve the issue of providing military assistance to our state in countering the full-scale aggression of Russia. In addition, this visit should also once again draw attention to what is happening in Ukraine.
• Before the conversation with Joe Biden, the President of Ukraine met with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin and General Charles Brown. Zelensky arrived at the White House on December 12, where he discussed urgent needs with the American leader.
• As a result of the meeting, the US President announced a new aid package for Ukraine, amounting to 200 million dollars. Biden did not explain what exactly would be included there.
