Western air defense systems, including American Patriot air defense systems and others, will be delivered to Ukraine in the coming months.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting of members of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities from the Rivne region.
Strengthening air defense in Ukraine
According to Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine's priority is to ensure the protection of industrial and economic centers with a sufficient number of air defense systems.

— Thanks to our partners, we are increasing the number of Patriot and other systems. We will continue to work in this direction. In August, September and October, the corresponding systems will be in the country, — the President of Ukraine claims.
About 120 representatives of local government, business and banks took part in the meeting. They discussed the importance of supporting Ukrainian soldiers, developing regional cooperation with other countries, setting up school shelters and the situation in the energy sector.
Additional generating capacities are planned to be installed in the Rivne region. Currently, 17 such installations are operating at heat supply and industrial enterprises. About 1.2 thousand houses in the region are equipped with solar panels, local government representatives said.
At the same time, the president supported the proposal to expand the interest-free loan program for the installation of alternative energy sources at social infrastructure facilities.
The meeting also discussed providing educational institutions with shelters, which can be located in basements and semi-basements.
