The Bakhmut direction remains one of the main ones for the enemy. Over the past 24 hours, the Russians have dealt 135 strikes with cannon and rocket artillery, and there have been 44 combat clashes.
In particular, in the Soledar direction – 32 strikes and 7 collisions. The invaders lost 113 people killed and 156 wounded. Serhiy Cherevaty, speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on Channel 24.
The dynamics of hostilities on Bakhmut remains active. The enemy is trying to break through our defenses. Accordingly, our units are doing everything to inflict maximum damage on him and prevent him from completing his main task, Cherevaty claims.

What is the goal of the invaders
The cherished dream of the Russians is to encircle Bakhmut. Since the beginning of the year, they have threatened this, the speaker noted, but nothing worked.
“In their propaganda, they were very fond of talking about all kinds of boilers. But after 2014, we matured, studied our experience and the experience of the enemy, tempered ourselves in battles, and therefore they didn’t even allow it to be done,” the speaker of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.
This was recently demonstrated during the Soledar operation. As they did not spin apocalyptic scenarios, the speaker notes, in fact, the apocalypse has come for them. “They lost thousands of people, entered the ruins, and now they are being poured with fire there,” Cherevaty stated.
Now the invaders are trying to achieve at least some local success at the level of the regional center. Considering the retrospective of hostilities, Cherevaty emphasizes, they have nothing special to boast of.
The last losses of the enemy
- Russian invaders daily suffer losses of personnel . Over the past 24 hours alone, the Ukrainian military destroyed 490 soldiers of the enemy army.
- According to the General Staff, as of February 24, 2022, at least 126,650 Russian soldiers died in the war in Ukraine.
