The Russians switched to active defense in the Bakhmut direction. They are trying to scout out weak areas in the defense of the Ukrainian defenders.
This was announced by the head of the public relations service of the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vladimir Fityo, on Radio Liberty.
According to him, the invaders do not have strategic successes along the entire line of contact from Kupyansk to Bakhmut.

“On this section of the front, the enemy moved from defense to active defense. Tries to recapture positions that he previously lost. Whenever possible, our military personnel move on to attacking actions and improve their tactical position. So over the past 24 hours we repulsed 10 enemy attacks. These are Kleshcheevka and Andreevka,” said Fityo.
The speaker noted that the Ukrainian Defense Forces saw the Russians preparing for active combat operations even before the beginning of October. The preparation lasted about three months.
– We strengthened ourselves, strengthened our engineering structures. Reserves were also raised. And we saw that at first the attacks took place more actively in the Liman-Kupyansk direction, and now they have moved to the Bakhmut direction. That is, the enemy is trying to achieve success somewhere,” he added.
Earlier, the commander of the operational-strategic group of troops of Tavria, Alexander Tarnavsky, said that the Defense Forces captured more than 10 Russian soldiers, who surrendered on their own on November 12.
