NATO plans to allocate 40 billion euros to Ukraine annually: the political scientist pointed out an important nuance Anzhelika Galesevich

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance is ready to continue to annually invest 40 billion euros in military support for Ukraine.

Political scientist Nikolai Davidyuk on air 24 Channel expressed the opinion that this is still a beautiful amount. You need to understand the deadline – how many years in a row Ukraine will receive these funds.

How NATO should actually act

According to the political scientist, 40 billion euros from NATO for Ukraine is great news. However, we need to know how many years in a row we will receive this assistance. For example, there was a similar security agreement between the United States and Israel. The country was given different years, and it received from 15 to 30 billion.

It is important that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said: “Ukraine annually for 10 years will receive 40 billion euros”. To which Kyiv will answer: “That is, almost half a trillion euros will go into the Ukrainian defense industry, and our state will automatically fall into the top ten strongest armies in the world, and Russia will be two steps lower.”

But they don’t say “how long” – during the war, a year after it, two years or a hundred years in a row. We need to ask about deadlines while they are in a state of romantic responsibility to Ukraine and are ready to give this money,” noted Nikolai Davidyuk.

If the threat disappears, the romantic responsibility will evaporate. European and Western wallets will immediately close, and partner countries will try to provide as little assistance to Ukraine as possible.

Therefore, it is now necessary that security guarantees are not empty pieces of paper. For example, some agreements already signed refer to consultations within 24 hours. According to the political scientist, this is a “powerful” guarantee – they came, sympathized and left. On the contrary, it is necessary to saturate them with financial and military obligations.
