The main thing from the biography of Narges Mohammadi

Narges Mohammadi was born in Iran on April 21, 1972. She studied at Imam Khomeini International University, received a degree in physics, and became a professional engineer. During her university career, she wrote articles supporting women's rights in the student newspaper, which led to her being arrested at a political student group meeting.

She continued to work as a journalist for several reformist newspapers and published a book of political essays entitled Reforms, Strategy and Tactics.

In 2003, she joined the Center for Human Rights Defenders, which is headed by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, and later became the organization's vice president.

In 2011, Mohammadi was first sentenced to many years in prison for her efforts to help jailed activists and their families. Two years later, after being released on bail, Mohammadi began campaigning against the death penalty. Therefore, in 2015, she was arrested again. However, in prison, she began to speak out about torture and sexual violence against political prisoners, especially women, in Iranian prisons.

During the wave of protests in Iran in 2022, she expressed support for demonstrators and organized solidarity actions among her fellow inmates, so even stricter conditions were imposed against her. Mohammadi was prohibited from taking calls or receiving visitors. However, he continues to smuggle his articles.
