Brief version of the news
- Great Britain announced a military aid package of 500 million pounds sterling for Ukraine.
- London allegedly hinted to the Ukrainian military to concentrate the offensive in the South.
- For this, the country promised to provide boats, missiles, armored vehicles and other equipment.
- The Kherson region is considered a key area for Ukraine, where it is necessary to build on its success and stop the Russian offensive.

The UK has announced its largest military aid package to Ukraine, worth £500 million. This includes boats, missiles, armored vehicles, ammunition and drones.
London is allegedly signaling that the Ukrainian military will focus future offensives in the South . 24 Channel was told about this by the head of the Center for Military Legal Research, Alexander Musienko, noting that now, most likely, offensive actions will take place only in one direction.
Levoberezhnaya Kherson region – a springboard of hope
“If you look at the nomenclature of British aid, it seems to say: “Go to the left bank of the Kherson region. Go to the administrative borders with occupied Crimea.” The package includes boats, boats, Storm Shadow. Also not tanks, but armored vehicles that can be quickly transported across the Dnieper,” Musienko noted.
The military assistance package from Great Britain will, in particular, include:
- 60 boats, including sea raiding and diving boats, and also naval cannons;
- more than 1,600 “shock” and anti-aircraft missiles, as well as additional Storm Shadow cruise missiles;
- over 400 vehicles, including 160 Husky armored vehicles, 162 armored vehicles and 78 off-road vehicles;
- nearly four million rounds of small arms ammunition.
The British are hinting that the Kherson region is the only chance for Kyiv to attack. Alexander Musienko shares this opinion, adding that the Defense Forces need to try to build on their success in this area. According to him, this is a springboard of hope for Ukraine, it cannot be called otherwise.
What is the current situation in the Kherson region: look at the map
It is likely that Great Britain will soon even publicly set a condition – to attack exclusively on the left bank Kherson region. After the counter-offensive of 2023, Ukraine is unlikely to be able to feel freer and attack on 3-4 segments of the front. The West will provide our state with weapons exclusively to carry out those tasks that it considers more achievable and possible.
Taking this into account, this calculation now dominates in the West that it is necessary to stop the Russian offensive, liberate as much territory as possible in the South, drive Russia out of there, and weaken any Russian demands in future negotiations. Then this conflict can be frozen, under what conditions and for what period of time – this question is open, – summed up the head of the Center for Military Legal Studies.
Military assistance for Ukraine: the main thing
- US President Joe Biden announced a new aid package for Ukraine in the amount of $1 billion, which includes air defense ammunition, artillery shells and armored vehicles.
- Much of the weapons from the new United States aid package for Ukraine are already in stockpiles in Germany and Poland. One of the first materials to be delivered to the Ukrainian military will be artillery shells.
- The next shipment of military aid to Kyiv from the UK may contain Paveway IV bombs. These bombs carry a 500-pound high-explosive warhead and use GPS and laser guidance to achieve a high level of accuracy.
