We are talking about a composition created by a Ukrainian for an Austrian musician who lost his arm in the First World War. An incredible video of the performance was published by Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadovyy.

To support and care for people

The symbolic work was written by composer Sergei Bortkevich 100 years ago for the famous Austrian pianist Paul Wittgenstein. In writing notes, everything was done so that one hand was enough to perform on the piano. However, this approach opened up a new dimension and created a unique direction of classical music.

Today it (Bortkiewicz's composition – Channel 24) is played in a hospital where Ukrainians who suffered from the war are being rescued. This is the symbolic music of invincibility. We are creating the UNBROKEN Ukraine ecosystem to support and care for people affected by the war,” Andrey Sadovyy wrote.
