Motorola is preparing to release a low-cost smartphone with 5G support. This is reported by TechnikNews with reference to the report of insiders.
The device appears in the internal documentation of the company called Kiev (“Kiev”). The device will differ from other cheap devices by its support for fifth generation communications. Also, Kiev will be one of the first phones on the market to receive the new Snapdragon 690 5G chip. The device will come with six gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal memory, a Full HD OLED screen, HDR support and a 60 hertz refresh rate.
Insiders said that the new product will have a main camera with four lenses with a main sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels and an additional resolution of 8, 2 and 16 megapixels. The device will receive Android 10, Qualcomm aptX codec, microSD memory card slot.
The cost of the device is not disclosed – it is only known that “Kiev” will be targeted at the general consumer. The date of the announcement of the smartphone is also not reported.
The last Motorola smartphone as of the beginning of autumn was the RAZR 5G clamshell, released on September 9th. The device received two displays – a main diagonal of 6.2 inches and an additional external diagonal of 2.7 inches. The flagship came out with a Snapdragon 765G chip, 5G support, a 48MP single camera, a 2800mAh battery.
