< strong _ngcontent-sc84="">Since the beginning of the war, the Russian invaders have deported several tens of thousands of residents of Mariupol. Most of all – from the Levoberezhny district of the city.

Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol Petr Andryushchenko said during the telethon that about 50 thousand Mariupol residents from the Levoberezhny district were forcibly taken to Russia. Some of them are in a filtration camp, Channel 24 reports.

The left-bank district of Mariupol suffers the most

Thus, Petr Andryushchenko noted, since the beginning of the war, most residents went to the Central District. This was right up to the beginning of the complete blockade of the city. When Russian troops entered Mariupol, they began a partial evacuation of the civilian population. They took people out of the Left Bank District – from the Raduga Park to Azovstal.

It is the Left Bank District that suffers the most from deportation,โ€ he stressed.

< p> So, more than 40 thousand inhabitants of Mariupol were deported to Russia. Another 7-10 thousand are kept in the “filtration camp”. In total, about 50,000 citizens actually became hostages of the aggressor country.
