According to the published information, the “Carpet” plan was introduced at the Moscow airports Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Domodedovo due to the threat of a UAV attack.

Flights are currently delayed for departure and arrival. Some of the planes are in the holding area, the report says.

Moreover, restrictions have also been introduced at the Kaluga airport. No additional information on this matter has been made public yet.

Recall that, according to the decree of the Russian government, this plan is announced in case of illegal border crossing, as well as with the appearance of unknown objects in the airspace. The “carpet” provides for the immediate landing or withdrawal from the zone of all civilian aircraft, except for military and rescue aircraft.

By the way, the “Carpet” plan was recently introduced at the Sochi airport, the restrictions lasted for three hours. Then 11 aircraft diverted to alternate airfields in Mineralnye Vody, Vladikavkaz and Astrakhan. The departure of 10 aircraft was delayed, in particular, the departure of flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Samarkand.
