The Ukrainian Women's Congress (UWC) and Oschadbank conducted a study, according to which 53% of women surveyed want to learn more about financial literacy, which should have a positive impact on the number and quality of women's businesses.
This is stated in the project description published on the Housing and Utilities Department website.
It is noted that the study was conducted among women from small communities.
Now watching
– In order to restore the country's economy today, it is extremely necessary to more actively involve women, including through changing their specialties and increasing their career ambitions. Our cooperation with the UZhK and the results of the joint study prove that we are moving in the right direction: the educational component is extremely important for this, – noted Roza Tapanova, a member of the supervisory board of Oschadbank.
According to statistics provided by the UZhK, during the war the number of women who became the main breadwinners of their families and managers of the family budget increased significantly.
– These women have taken on new functions and require new knowledge. Knowledge is also needed by women who have successfully started their own business, but do not know how to scale up, – explained the co-founder and director of the Congress Svetlana Voitsekhovskaya.
It is noted that according to the study, despite the fact that women have a higher level of education, their financial literacy is lower than that of men – 25% versus 37%.
The measurement was carried out using a test in which it was necessary to calculate the annual interest rate of the loan based on the monthly indicator.
– In our opinion, the potential of women's business has not yet been fully realized. We want more Ukrainian women to start their own business, gain new knowledge, and then new opportunities. Cooperation with UZhK is another step in this direction, – summarized the Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank Serhiy Naumov.
Given the significant demand on this issue, the authors of the project plan to conduct more information campaigns in this area.
