Russian journalists were able to confirm the death of 15,000 Russian soldiers in Ukraine. The figure is higher than the official death toll in the Afghan war. However, it is much lower than the official statistics of the General Staff.
Journalists indicate that the information was collected on the basis of open data, that is, the Russians wrote about them publicly and it was easy to trace.
Among the dead:
- over 1200 mobilized;
- over 1300 prisoners;
- over 1800 officers;
- 199 senior officers – lieutenant colonels, colonels and generals.
