Using these false documents, the Volyn OVA allegedly sent them abroad to receive humanitarian aid.
For their services, the members of the criminal group charged up to $5 thousand per client.
Since 2022, criminals have illegally transported more than 100 draft dodgers abroad.
The investigation established that the deputy was part of an organized criminal group that had previously been exposed by the SBU.
The scheme was led by the former deputy chairman of the Volyn regional military administration, who has already been detained by law enforcement officers.
Based on the evidence collected, the deputy was notified of suspicion for participation in a criminal organization, obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and illegal transportation of persons across the state border.
The suspect faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
