Germany at the end of June and beginning of July almost secretly sent a new package of military aid to Ukraine. This included tanks, air defense systems and anti-aircraft missile systems.

This batch also included other heavy armored vehicles. All this was provided by the German defense industry together with the Bundeswehr.

What Germany gave in the new package to Ukraine

According to the publication Merkur, Germany delivered a significant military package to Kyiv for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It included 39 tanks produced by the German defense industry and the Bundeswehr.

In particular, last week Ukraine received from Germany ten more Leopard 1A5 battle tanks and twenty Marder infantry fighting vehicles. Thus, the total number of Marder tanks supplied by Germany to Ukraine reached 120 units, as well as the number of Leopard 1 tanks that were repaired and delivered – 50 units.

Germany also expanded the Ukrainian Army's arsenal to include various military vehicles, including Biber bridge-laying tanks, Dachs engineering tanks, recovery tanks, and Wisent 1 mine clearance tanks.

Additionally , Germany has supplied another IRIS-T SLM and IRIS-T SLS air defense systems to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure and cities of Ukraine from Russian air attacks.

This package also contained three HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. Although the Bundeswehr and the German army do not yet have HIMARS in service, they previously provided Ukraine with four technically similar multiple launch rocket systems.
