In the first six months of 2025, the Russian army lost 230,180 servicemen. This is roughly equivalent to more than 19 divisions.
Russian Army Losses in the First Half of 2025
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past six months, Russian occupiers have lost 1,311 tanks and 2,885 armored combat vehicles.
— 1,311 vehicles — this is roughly 42 tank battalions. The Russian army lost most tanks in the first half of the year in February — 331 units. Our soldiers burned most enemy armored vehicles in January — 610 units and in March — 607 units, — the Ukrainian Defense Ministry noted.
Also, since the beginning of this year, more than 21,021 units of Russian motor vehicles have been destroyed or damaged. By the way, for the whole of 2024, the Russian army lost 22,000 vehicles and tankers.

The highest monthly figure for the destruction of enemy vehicles was recorded in April, when Ukrainian defenders “minus” 4,104 units of Russian vehicles.
— The Defense Forces continue successful counter-battery combat. In the first half of the year, our defenders destroyed or damaged 8,222 enemy artillery systems. Now there is a tendency to maintain a large number of combat clashes: in June, their number was 5,304. And in total, over 28,273 combat clashes occurred in the first half of the year, — the department stated.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky reported that in June the total losses of the occupiers in manpower amounted to 32,420 people.
During the first month of summer, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 111 enemy tanks, 272 combat armored vehicles, 1,227 artillery systems, 26 MLRS, 17 air defense systems, 3,371 vehicles and 18 special equipment, as well as 4,574 operational-tactical level UAVs.
