The monument to Shevchenko was “hidden” in Kharkiv
In particular, the Kharkiv authorities decided to do everything to make the monument to Taras Shevchenko survive the war. The monument began to be laid with sandbags. The mayor of Kharkov Igor Terekhov gave the corresponding instruction on March 24.
He called the monument to the Ukrainian writer “our symbol”. According to him, both ordinary people and specialized workers set to work with great enthusiasm. Today they reported that the work was almost completed.
