US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of new general import tariffs on goods from six countries: Brunei, the Philippines, Iraq, Algeria, Moldova and Libya, effective August 1, 2025.
This was reported by the British publication The Guardian.

— The US President is publishing copies of individual letters addressed to Brunei, the Philippines, Iraq, Algeria, Moldova and Libya. Each country’s letter has its own tariff rate: 30% for Algeria; 30% for Iraq; 30% for Libya; 25% for Brunei; 25% for Moldova; 20% for the Philippines, the statement says.
This is the second such announcement in a few days. On July 7, Trump announced the introduction of similar general tariffs on goods from five countries: Tunisia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Serbia and Bosnia, effective August 1, 2025.

“Tunisia will be subject to a 25% duty on goods imported into the United States; Indonesia – 32%; Bangladesh and Serbia – 35%; Bosnia – 30%; Cambodia – 36%,” the publication writes.
Recall that Trump published a series of letters on the social network Truth Social, which talk about the introduction of uniform general tariffs on imports of products from the relevant countries into the United States from August 1, 2025.
A 25% US tariff has been imposed on goods from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Kazakhstan; a 30% US tariff on goods from South Africa; and a 40% US tariff on goods from Laos and Myanmar.
