In Ukraine, cases of serving subpoenas to the army for administrative offenses have become more frequent. The General Staff says that Ukraine needs a mobilization resource and at the same time states that there are a sufficient number of reserve units.

Ukraine needs a mobilization resource

Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Gromov confirmed during a briefing that there are cases in Ukraine when subpoenas are handed over for offenses, Channel 24 reports.

According to him, you need to understand that in during the war with Russia, the Ukrainian army needs a mobilization resource.

At the same time, the brigadier general said that there are enough conscientious citizens in Ukraine who come to the territorial recruitment centers and declare their desire to fulfill their constitutional duty and defend the state.

Oleksiy Gromov said that by now a sufficient number of reserve units have been formed.

We have completed the military units with a mobilization resource,” he said.

The brigadier general stressed that the liberation of the entire territory of Ukraine without further accumulation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with mobilization resources would be impossible.

Gromov added that there are two components to victory – people and weapons.

Delivery of the summons does not mean mobilization for service

Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar also commented on the delivery of subpoenas on the streets, in shops and at checkpoints. She recalled that the law does not establish a specific place where it is possible and where it is impossible to serve a summons.

Malyar stressed that the delivery of the summons does not mean that a person will be automatically mobilized for service. According to her, after that, the credentials of the state of health will be clarified.

And only after that a decision is made on the mobilization of a particular person, she said.

How many Ukrainians should be mobilized

  • Because of the Russian aggression in Ukraine, a general mobilization has been introduced, which has been extended until August 23. Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar stated that the mobilization went according to plan.
  • She did not name the exact number of people who have yet to be mobilized, but stressed that we are talking about hundreds of thousands.
  • June 15 Ukraine has entered into force a law equating the rights of students and teachers of institutions of vocational education to the rights of students and teachers of universities. Now students and teachers of vocational schools have received the right to deferment from military service and can continue their education.
