Men liable for military service from 18 to 60 years old are subject to mobilization. However, in some cases they are entitled to a deferment.

How to get a deferment
The Law of Ukraine On mobilization training and mobilization clearly defines who has the right to deferment from mobilization. It is implemented by submitting an application along with a number of documents. They need to be prepared before a visit to the TCC and the joint venture.
The application must include passport details, a request for a deferment in accordance with Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On mobilization preparation and mobilization”, as well as the date and signature.
All necessary documents confirming the right to deferral must be added to the application. After that, it is registered in the journal of incoming correspondence of the TCC. The commission considers the application and decides on granting a deferment.
A person liable for military service is provided with an extract from the protocol book. It indicates the surname, name and patronymic; date of birth; grounds for delay; number and date of the postponement protocol; surnames, first names, patronymics and signatures of members of the TCC commission.
A person receives a certificate of granting a deferral with a stamp in a military ID or temporary ID. This document is presented upon request for a delay.
Who is eligible for a deferment
Note that a detailed list is defined in Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine On mobilization and mobilization training. In particular, among the categories of citizens eligible for a deferment:
- booked workers;
- persons with a disability that makes them temporarily unfit for up to 6 months;
- women and men who have at least three children under 18 years of age;
- women and men who are constantly caring for a sick husband (wife) of a child or parents (their own or a partner);
- students, etc.
