This year, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has reduced the list of persons who can receive a deferment from conscription for military service (law No. 9342). However, can they be called up if the wife is a group 2 disabled person, read the material.

Until 2023, a deferment from mobilization can be obtained provided that the person liable for military service has a relative with a disability of group I or II – his wife (husband), parents or parents of his wife (spouse). The same reason could also be the basis for transfer to the reserve if such relatives are mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Mobilization 2023: what the law lawyer says
According to lawyer Rostislav Kravets, before the adoption of this law, a spouse with a second disability group was and is the basis for a deferment for mobilization. Despite these points, conscripts were sent to the Military Medical Commission (military medical commission). Before going to the Military Military Command, conscripts must submit an application for a deferment from mobilization and provide:

- Marriage certificate;
- wife's certificate (disability certificate);
- and only then go to the VVK.
However, the expert notes that such people have the right to a deferment from mobilization, despite the new law. There is also a family code, but it does not abolish such a right.
Especially for those persons liable for military service who have a wife or husband with a disability or one of their parents or the parents of their wife (spouse) with a disability of group I or II, provided that they do not have other able-bodied relatives who are obliged to support them.
