Mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shoot down about 40% of the drones, in particular the attack Shaheds, with which Russia attacks Ukraine daily.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, stated this during a conversation with journalists.

According to Alexander Syrsky, mobile fire groups (MFG) are used to shoot down Shaheds. The effectiveness of such groups is about 40%.
“We must save anti-aircraft guided missiles, so mobile fire groups are a priority for defeating Shahids. They account for the largest share of destroyed strike UAVs. The effectiveness of MTFs is up to 40%. That is, today they have not lost their relevance,” emphasized Commander-in-Chief Syrsky.
According to him, the use of light aircraft is an effective counteraction to Russian drones. The Defense Forces already have such aircraft, and the supply of new models continues thanks to international support.
“We are receiving modern light aircraft that have modern weapons and navigation equipment, which will increase the effectiveness of countering Russian attack drones,” said Alexander Syrsky.
They also help shoot down enemy drones and military helicopters, and work continues to expand this area of counteraction.
Alexander Syrsky noted that Ukraine received modern surveillance and targeting systems from its Canadian partners, which increases the combat capabilities of our helicopters.
The General Staff has repeatedly emphasized that today Ukraine lacks anti-aircraft missiles and systems that shoot down Russian missiles. Every night, helicopters and fighter aircraft, in particular F-16 and Mirage-2000 aircraft provided by partners, participate in repelling enemy attacks.
Also, the Ukrainian Armed Forces actively employ units of drone interceptors.
