“Misleading”: why Romania denies Russian missiles in its airspace

by alex

During an attack on Ukraine, Russian missiles flew into the airspace of Romania, a member of NATO. However, the country does not confirm the passage of enemy missiles, saying that they were allegedly 35 kilometers from the border.

Why Romania denies Russian missiles in its airspace –Channel 24 said the head of the NGO “Ukraine in NATO”, a member of the Atlantic Council Yuriy Romanyuk. He believes that everything is due to “not aggravating the situation.”

According to him,the country did not shoot down Russian missiles that violated its airspace due to the fact that the debris did not fall into densely populated areas of the country and did not harm people.

Romania let this missile fly calmly, realizing that Ukrainian air defense would shoot it down further. I am convinced that there will be no reaction from NATO at this stage,” explained Romanyuk. h2>

The head of the NGO “Ukraine in NATO” noted that the country's means of control will fix and confirm the Ukrainian or Romanian correctness – that is, whether Russian missiles really flew over Romania. He is sure that such devices do not lie.

“Controls passinformation, and it is deliberately politically distorted by one of the countries, pursuing political goals. Ukraine or Romania does it – we cannot know for sure. There should be one objective conclusion,” Romaniuk emphasized.

In his opinion, if there are two options for the incident, it means that one side is misleading someone.

Which side? Perhaps now it is not desirable for Romania, as members of NATO, to “direct” this situation. They understand that the passage of one or two Russian missiles was not specifically fined by the Kremlin to harm a NATO member state. – said Romanyuk.

The expert added that if the territory of Romania was used only as a missile trajectory, then the NATO country would therefore not escalate the situation with Russia.

According to him, even if the means of control of Romania recorded a flight through the Romanian airspace, then from NATO, except for “concern”there would be nothing else, especially some kind of aggravation.

How this can help Ukraine

On the eve of “Ramstein”, this is beneficial to Ukraine, because this will help us strengthen our position, demanding that NATO accelerate the provision of us with the maximum number of air defense systems in order to “cover” our airspace from missiles, – said Romaniuk.

He assumes that the general position of “Rammstein” will be in favor of Ukraine.

“Through their terrorist actions, the Russians are forcing Ramstein to provide Ukraine with as many air defense systems as possible. We will rely on this,” the expert concluded.

Important! The air force promised to provide data and materials from the radar, where missiles were recorded flying over Romania. According to the speaker, it could be 2 Kalibr-type missiles. They also stressed that Russia had already crossed Moldovan airspace three times to strike at Western Ukraine.

  • February 10, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. In addition, two Russian Kalibr-type missiles crossed the airspace of Romania, which is a member of NATO.
  • Valery Zaluzhny, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that first the Kalibr missiles crossed the border of Ukraine with Moldova, flew over the territory of Romania and again entered the airspace of Ukraine.
  • Yury Ignat, the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the Air Force had the ability to shoot down these enemy missiles. However, they understood the risks and threats to the population of a foreign state, so they did not do it.
  • Now in Romania they do not confirm the passage of Russian missiles. They claim that they flew 35 kilometers to the border with the country. At the same time, Moldova has already confirmed the passage of missiles by the terrorist country.
