The first French Mirage-2000 fighters arrived in Ukraine on February 6, 2025, as reported by French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu.
He recalled that on June 6, 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the transfer of these combat aircraft to the Ukrainian side. Today, the first fighters have already arrived at their destination.

Mirage 2000 fighters: characteristics
The Mirage 2000 aircraft was created by the French company Dassault back in the 1970s. Since then, it has undergone a number of modifications.
As noted by the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group Alexander Kovalenko, the Mirage 2000 is a light fighter, sometimes multi-purpose, because it can be used not only as a fighter, but also as a bomber.
According to him, this is an aircraft developed back in the 1970s, but this does not make it obsolete. After being adopted for service in 1984, it has been repeatedly modernized and has many modifications that meet certain needs in modern warfare.
— These aircraft can fly at a maximum altitude of up to 18 km, and can also have a maximum speed of 2.3 thousand km/h. This is a pretty good indicator.
It has different modifications, but now Ukraine is interested in the Mirage 2000 D. These aircraft began their first test flights in 1991.
The purpose of the Mirage 2000 D is to break through enemy air defense systems. Especially at low altitudes.
That is, the main task of the Mirage is to break through enemy air defenses in any weather conditions, at any time of day, using high-precision guided aircraft weapons with laser guidance systems, which significantly increase the effectiveness of such strikes.
These aircraft have more high-tech (compared to other modifications) onboard electronic equipment, flight control systems and sighting and navigation elements. There are also electronic warfare systems.

Mirage 2000 aircraft are in service with many countries, but France has the largest number (specifically with the 2000 D modification).
Mirage 2000D can drop AASM guided bombs. The range of such bombs is up to 60-70 km, and the warhead is 125, 250, 500, 1000 kg.
