Ukrainian athlete Mykhailo Kokhan won a bronze medal in hammer throw at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

There were six attempts in the hammer throw final at the 2024 Olympics. Based on the results of the first three attempts — The top eight athletes advanced, after which they had to make three more attempts.

In his first attempt, Mikhail Kokhan threw 78.54 m. He was in the lead before Canadian Ethan Kaberg threw the hammer 84.12 m.

Based on the three attempts, Mikhail Kokhan was in third place. The Ukrainian was overtaken by Hungarian Bence Galas with a 79.37 m attempt. Therefore, our athlete was third from last in the final attempts.

In his last attempt, he threw the hammer 79.24 m. In the end, Mykhailo Kokhan still won the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Kokhan became the second Ukrainian hammer thrower in history to win an Olympic medal. The first was Oleksandr Krikun in 1996.
