Indications Medvedchuk vs. Poroshenko: Venislavsky told what will happen next

Venislavsky told what the next steps will be after Medvedchuk's testimony/Collage of Channel 24

The SBU released a video from the interrogation of Viktor Medvedchuk. In it, Putin's godfather spoke about criminal schemes related to fuel and coal that operated in Ukraine. In particular, he spoke about Poroshenko's role in them.

Fyodor Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, has already reacted to this. During the telethon, he told how the next actions of law enforcement agencies would be, Channel 24 reports.

Investigators will continue to collect evidence

Fyodor Venislavsky stressed that what Viktor Medvedchuk said during interrogation more must be confirmed. Therefore, in the course of criminal proceedings, all collected evidence will be evaluated. Only after that it will be possible to draw at least some conclusions.

At the same time, he stressed that Putin's godfather was not only a participant, but also a witness, organizer and executor of orders. He received them, including from the heads of state.

Viktor Medvedchuk, recalls Venislavsky, is suspected of serious crimes. If the pre-trial investigation authorities have evidence or other facts confirming what they said, they will interrogate those whom the politician pointed out.

The next step is at least the interrogation of persons involved in illegal schemes, and then a decision will be made: are there any grounds to report suspicion of crimes committed by other persons involved in this process, Venislavsky added.

Why Medvedchuk began to testify< /h3>

Fyodor Venislavsky has an idea why Putin's godfather decided to cooperate with law enforcement officers. In his opinion, this is due to the fact that Medvedchuk is not going to be exchanged for Ukrainians who are now in captivity. He decided to tell what he knew.

So, he voiced information that related to abuses from 2014 to 2019 by the top political leadership. Venislavsky noted that the relevant information had already been announced earlier. Now Medvedchuk simply confirmed them with his testimony.

Medvedchuk testified in the coal case

Recall that 23 May SBU posted a video of Viktor Medvedchuk's testimony online. In them, he spoke not only about the illegal purchase of coal from the temporarily occupied territories of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

Putin's godfather also spoke about a scheme by which he managed to privatize an oil pipeline for transporting diesel and enrichment for several years. In both cases, according to Medvedchuk, the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, was involved.

Poroshenko has already responded to Medvedchuk's testimony. The lawyer of the fifth president emphasized that the words of Putin's godfather have nothing to do with reality. Moreover, he called the corresponding publication of the SBU pressure on judges who should decide on the arrest of Petro Poroshenko's property.
