Bakanov confirmed that Medvedchuk is cooperating with the investigation/Channel 24 collage
Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk decided to cooperate with the investigation into criminal schemes for buying coal and appropriating the oil pipeline. The defendants in the investigation are not only Medvedchuk and Petro Poroshenko, but also other officials.

The head of the SBU, Ivan Bakanov, spoke about this on air on the Rada channel. He confirmed that Viktor Medvedchuk is cooperating with the investigation.
“And we welcome the readiness to tell about the details of the cases in which he is accused. And although in this case we are talking about the events of 2014-2015, it is today that we can fully assess their impact on the economy and security of our state,” Bakanov said.
In his opinion, it was in those years that the foundation of the current events in Ukraine was laid.
The current war is a direct consequence of the policy of Russia, which at all costs tried to maintain its influence on Ukraine, Bakanov said.
The head of the SBU said that high-ranking officials in Ukraine helped the Kremlin to maintain its influence in one way or another.
“Information from Medvedchuk allows the Ukrainian society to see what exactly the state policy was like before. And this is not only a matter of legal responsibility, but also of moral responsibility,” Bakanov said.
He said that Ukrainians had witnessed political cynicism , “when business issues were resolved under patriotic slogans and even terrorists were financed for the sake of a quick penny.”
According to the head of the SBU, recently Medvedchuk and other defendants in the investigations claimed that all suspicions were unfounded. Now, as Bakanov noted, Medvedchuk's rhetoric has changed and the deputy himself tells the details of this scheme.
He stated that the SBU and investigators are confidently moving forward in investigating these cases. The head of the SBU assured that things could be brought to their logical conclusion. According to him, all cases are now at different stages.
Bakanov noted that Medvedchuk actually confirms the evidence and versions announced by the SBU, and on the basis of which Putin and Poroshenko's godfather was suspected of high treason and financing of terrorism .

The head of the SBU singled out three cases in which Medvedchuk appears. In particular, we are talking about the purchase of coal from the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions (terrorism financing item) and the appropriation of the oil pipeline (state treachery). Medvedchuk also appears in the case of the Luch project, which will soon be considered in court.
Bakanov said that Medvedchuk gave extremely important testimony and “said a lot of interesting things about Poroshenko's role” in the schemes. He stressed that the testimony of Putin's godfather confirms that Poroshenko “used Medvedchuk's connections with the leadership of Russia to organize certain business schemes.”
According to the SBU, the schemes were not in the interests of Ukraine. In addition, according to him, the economy and security of Ukraine suffered losses. Also, the organization of schemes, as Bakanov said, was facilitated by a variety of officials – from ministers to the head of the NBU.
The power vertical worked against Ukraine, Bakanov concluded.
