May will be even more difficult – Kuyun on the main problems with fuel

The fuel barque problem has worsened significantly in recent weeks. The main reason is the war.

Sergey Kuyun, director of the A-95 Consulting Group, said this on air on Channel 24. He told when the stabilization of the situation for drivers can be expected.

“I think that May will still be quite tense. The Cabinet of Ministers and the government as a whole have joined the problem, since some issues need to be resolved at the intergovernmental level,” said he.

Therefore, we can hope that the government will agree on an emergency volume of gasoline so that it can be brought promptly.

Why there is a shortage at gas stations: the main reasons

Before the war, we received 100% of fuel imports from Belarus, from Russia and by sea. Now all these directions do not work. Accordingly, the market was forced to reorient itself to the only source of supply – the European Union. This process is not very easy.

So we looked for resources first. They were found, fuel was bought. But now the main problem is that we can’t bring it,” Kuyun explained.

That is, in Europe there are no such capacities – tank cars, locomotives – in order to bring fuel in the volumes that are needed Ukraine. So there were problems with logistics.

Another problem is that the state retains state regulation , which does not fully take into account new realities, in particular, regarding logistics supply of petroleum products.

Therefore, imported fuel is now more expensive than the maximum price set by the Ministry of Economy. Therefore, it is simply unprofitable for Ukrainian gas stations to import fuel at such a price and sell it cheaper.
