If he can win, then it is possible that he will pursue a completely different policy,” noted Stanislav Zhelikhovsky.

After his victory, Donald Trump may even pursue a tough policy against Russia. For now, the main thing for him is to get support from as many Americans as possible.

“He has various statements in stock, which he uses from time to time to increase his ratings. Moreover more so against the backdrop of the fact that Trump's ratings are now falling. This may further encourage him to use more aggressive, contrarian rhetoric,” the international affairs expert explained.

Therefore, now the behavior and the statements of the former US President may not at all correspond to his true intentions. There is a high probability that Trump, if he comes to power again, will be as harsh as he is now.
