  • 140 calendar days, if two or more children were born or in case of complicated childbirth.
  • 180 calendar days for women in labor who belong to categories 1-3 of persons affected by the Chernobyl disaster.

Electronic sick leave (temporary sick leave certificates) are usually issued from the 30th week of pregnancy. In case of complications of pregnancy or the birth of two or more children, two sheets are issued: one standard for 126 days and the second for 14 days, which is issued after childbirth.

The calculation of the amount of sick leave is also carried out depending on the number of days. For this, the average salary is calculated minus non-working days, vacations at own expense. The calculation of the average daily salary is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 100.

That is, the calculation is carried out without taking into account the employee's length of service . Even if a woman has worked for 2 years, she will receive sick leave payments recalculated at 100% of the average salary.

< p > If a woman has a desire and feels well, she can transfer part of the leave until childbirth. Usually this part is transferred to the period after the birth of the child. The number of days of incapacity for work remains the same. To do this, you need to contact a doctor and submit a corresponding application. In accordance with the condition of the pregnant woman, the doctor decides whether to allow the transfer or refuse the woman.

An example of calculating sick leave for pregnancy and childbirth:

  • The woman has 3 years of experience, the birth is uncomplicated, and the average daily wage is 347 UAH 95 kopecks.
  • The woman's birth was uncomplicated, so the calculation is based on 126 calendar days.
  • You need to multiply 347 UAH 95 kopecks by 126 days. The total amount that a woman will receive is 43,841 UAH 70 kopecks.

When sick leave for pregnancy and childbirth is paid

The assistance must be paid within the period established for the payment of wages, which begins no later than 10 days from the date of receipt of the documents (application and certificate of incapacity for work).
