At night, Russia carried out another massive shelling of Ukraine. There were a record number of air targets – 741 drones and missiles. The defense forces neutralized almost 720 targets. The main direction of the enemy strike was Volyn, the city of Lutsk. However, a number of other regions were also hit.

Shelling of Kyiv on July 9
Almost immediately after 00:00 on July 9, air defense was actively working against drones in Kyiv.

Shelling of Kyiv region – Brovary
At night, the Russians launched attacks on the Kyiv region; Brovary and the area came under enemy fire.
Two people were injured there: a 44-year-old woman suffered a chest contusion, and a 61-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction.
Also in the Brovarsky district, rescuers extinguished a pallet fire at one of the enterprises.
Zhitomir region
As a result of the shelling of Zhitomir Oblast on July 9, explosions damaged the production facilities of a carpentry shop and outbuildings. Windows of two multi-story residential buildings were also broken.
Rescuers extinguished one of the fires. The second fire was still being extinguished as of 9 a.m.
Khmelnytsky region
At night, during enemy shelling of Ukraine in the skies over the Khmelnytsky region, air defense forces shot down one missile and a drone.
In the Khmelnytskyi district, as a result of shelling, the roof and walls of one of the private houses were damaged.
As reported by the head of the Khmelnytsky OVA Serhiy Tyurin, as a result of today's night shelling a man born in 1960 died in the Khmelnytsky district. The deceased was injured by the debris of Shahed.
The body has been sent for forensic examination.
Shelling of Lutsk on July 9
The main direction of enemy shelling in Ukraine was Lutsk and the Volyn region.
In total, about 50 drones and 5 missiles were recorded in the airspace of Volyn. Information about hits is being clarified.
According to Lutsk Mayor Igor Polischuk, as a result of the shelling, garages on the territory of one of the garage cooperatives caught fire. A fire also broke out on the territory of one of the enterprises.
There is no information about casualties or deaths yet.
Cherkasy region
The alarm sounded in the Cherkasy region for more than six hours in a row.
The enemy shelling was repelled by air defense forces and mobile fire groups. In total, 29 Russian drones were destroyed in the skies over Cherkasy Oblast.
Fortunately, no people were hurt. There are no complaints from the population about damage to property.
Chernihiv region
In the Snovsk community, an FPV drone attacked a 54-year-old woman riding a moped. She received shrapnel wounds and burns.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian enemy shelled the Chernihiv region 24 times. 67 explosions in 14 settlements. The occupiers fired artillery, mortars, MLRS and FPV drones.
Shelling of Sumy region on July 9
At night, the Romensky district was attacked by two Russian attack drones.
In the village of Nedrigailov, three people were injured as a result of a UAV attack, one person is in the hospital with burns.
As a result of the shelling, 12 private houses, 7 cars, and a service station building were damaged.
More than 80 subscribers are left without power.
Nikolaev region
As reported by the head of the Nikolaev OVA Vitaly Kim, on the night of July 9, air defense forces in the Nikolaev region destroyed 7 Shahed-type UAVs.
As a result of combat operations and falling debris, a wheat field caught fire in the Veselinovskaya community. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Dnepropetrovsk region
At night, air defense forces destroyed 17 enemy drones over the Dnepropetrovsk region.
According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Serhiy Lysak, the Russians attacked the Nikopol district in the evening. The occupiers fired heavy artillery and FPV drones.
Nikopol, Pokrovskaya, Chervonogrigorovskaya and Marganets communities suffered from the shelling.
Infrastructure was damaged. No one was hurt.
Kirovograd region
According to the head of the Kirovograd OVA Andrey Raikovich, the alarm in the region lasted seven hours. Mobile fire teams worked well on enemy targets.
There were no recorded consequences of the Russian shelling.
Poland raises fighter aircraft
Due to the massive shelling of Ukraine at night, Poland raised its air force. This was reported by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
Thus, at around 04:00, Polish and allied aircraft took to the skies. Pairs of fighters were put on duty, and ground-based air defense and electronic warfare systems reached the highest level of readiness.
