A lot of people help us in the world – with equipment, humanitarian support. Unfortunately, the Fund, which was created back in the spring to resolve urgent issues arising from shelling, has not yet begun to operate at full capacity.
About this Channel 24said adviser to the Minister of Energy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Lana Zerkal. She also noted that this Fund already has 500 thousand euros from Denmark, 10 million from Germany and 10 million dollars from Britain, they need to be formalized in writing.
“But this is only the beginning, everyone understands that it is necessary to support us, because without support it will be very difficult and sometimes even impossible for us to get through this winter period,” says Zerkal.
The scale of destruction that we have experienced now was difficult to foresee. If we talk about the percentage, then 30% of the substations that distribute the energy resource are damaged, she adds.
These damages are not critical for the winter, says Lana Zerkal, but the difficulties arose due to the fact that the destructions occurred at the same time.
“This is a difficult job for power engineers and repair crews, they have to work around the clock, to have electricity in the houses,” the specialist adds.
Of course, there was no such scale – we were faced with the need for repairs throughout the country. But our people are incredible, so we will fix everything.
