Mass events in Kyiv will not be held for a week. The ban takes effect today, August 22.

The restrictions will continue until August 25, 2022 inclusive. This order was issued by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Nikolai Zhirnov.

A week without mass events

The relevant instruction states that this is being done in order to respond in a timely manner to possible threats of enemy missile attacks. Russia can strike at military facilities, decision-making centers. Namely, during this period there are public holidays – Flag Day and Independence Day.

Therefore, it is forbidden to hold mass events, peaceful meetings, rallies and other events associated with large crowds.

Kievans once again reminded that it is necessary to observe safety rules during air raid warnings. In no case should you ignore it.

Also, for four days from August 21 to 24, the Kyiv Metro will operate on the transportation of passengers from 6:00 to 21:00. Residents of the city are asked to plan their routes taking into account the operation of the subway.

Likely threats on Independence Day

Zhdanov does not rule out that the Russian invaders have now quieted down, because they are preparing to intensify attacks on Ukraine on August 24.
