Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, a lot of dead fish, including dolphins, have been found on the shores of the Odessa region. This is due to the activity of Russians in the sea, which harms mammals.

The probable cause of the death of mammals is the use by Russians of sonar on submarines and surface boats. Sonars emit powerful sounds that adversely affect the health of animals. This was reported at the Office of the Prosecutor General on September 7.

The prosecutor's office opened criminal proceedings on the fact of ecocide

carried out inspections and cuts of porpoises and dolphins found dead on the coasts. The selected samples will be sent for research to the University of Padua in Italy and the University of Hannover in Germany.

The prosecutor's office is also preparing requests for international legal assistance to Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania to establish similar cases of the death of dolphins.

Prosecutors of the Odessa regional prosecutor's office opened criminal proceedings on the fact of ecocide. The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment from eight to fifteen years.

Massive killing of fish in the Odessa region

Since February 24, thousands of dead mammals have been constantly found on the shores of the Black Sea. Ivan Rusev, an ecologist and head of the research department at the Tuzlovsky Limany park, often informs about this.

According to him, the wildlife of the Black Sea is now very much aware of the cruelty of war. Powerful explosions stun the dolphins and they become like blind. And then mammals die of starvation or infectious diseases due to weak immunity.

As of the end of June, according to environmentalists, at least 3 thousand individuals have died. But the number is growing every day.
