Martial law continues in Ukraine due to full-scale Russian invasion. And this means that only certain categories of men have the right to travel abroad. Will this change in the near future.
The issue of men traveling abroad during martial law has become one of the most discussed. We will tell you when it will be possible to leave the country without restrictions.
Traveling abroad is still limited
Recall that only certain categories of men can travel abroad. If you are not a member of any of them, you will not be able to leave the country during martial law.
And, as military expert Petr Chernik suggested, talking about the total opening of borders will not be possible soon.
strong> One of the reasons for this is the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia. According to the expert, the corresponding restrictions have logical reasons.
We are at war. The defense of one's country is enshrined in the Constitution. The enemy makes a huge mobilization. The question is simple, logical and understandable – where do we get people? War is a vile phenomenon,” he stressed.
Also, according to Chernik, a myth is spreading throughout Ukrainian society. It is connected with the fact that mostly professionals should go to war. According to the expert, this statement is not true. Since it is about protecting your state, it is no longer about work. This is the fulfillment of the duty of every citizen, prescribed in the Constitution.
All men liable for military service will be able to leave Ukraine only on one condition. We are talking about the end of martial law. At the same time, general mobilization and conscription into the army will stop.
Recall that earlier Ukrainians who study at universities abroad could go abroad. But even this was subject to some restrictions related to forgery of documents.
Students no longer go abroad
Andrey Demchenko, the speaker of the State Border Guard Service, noted that the exit permit for students was canceled on September 14. According to him, the corresponding restriction was introduced due to the fixation of mass forgery of documents by male students.
An important nuance: travel abroad for male students studying in foreign universities was allowed by the highest military leadership. But it was only about those who received education there before February 24, 2022. However, those who entered abroad this summer also took advantage of this opportunity.
But, Demchenko noted, only in July-August, 600 people were found who had fake documents. The mass nature of such cases forced the top military leadership to cancel the exit permit.
Finally, we note that students generally do not fall into the category of those who can travel abroad during martial law. Therefore, crossing the state border by applicants education outside our country is an exception to the rule. But it was also settled by closing this “window of opportunity”.
