In the spring, Norwegian military personnel will begin training Ukrainian marines to operate small boats. The exercise will be the first step in a maritime coalition that Norway is coordinating with the UK.
According to the Norwegian Ministry of Defense, the coalition will supply ships and other vehicles to enhance Ukraine's capabilities, and will help develop the marine corps to protect coastal and inland waterways.
Naval Coalition: Marine Training
— Norway has established good relations with Ukrainian marines thanks to training in Norway. Now we are developing this cooperation and creating a special training program, — said Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram.
Training of Ukrainian marines will last about a year and will begin in the Netherlands in cooperation with allied countries.

Norway will donate inflatable boats and equipment to Ukraine in the amount of about NOK 60 million.
Norway is seeking to strengthen its maritime defenses and improve Ukraine's ability to operate along its own coastline, Gram said.
