Ukraine has enough resources to continue the fight against Russia until at least mid-2025, even if the United States of America under the new Donald Trump administration stops its support.

This was stated by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko in an interview with the Spanish publication El Pais.

Ukraine has the resources to confront Russia

The Minister answered a question about the possible termination of aid from the United States, noting that this could become a problem and a challenge for Ukraine. According to him, in order to cope with this situation, it is necessary to have a plan for establishing cooperation with the new US administration.

Marchenko stressed that it is important for Ukraine to build trust for effective cooperation, and this should become a priority for both our country and Europe.

He also noted that attitudes can change, and in order to adapt to this uncertainty, Ukraine needs to use time wisely and be ready for negotiations with the new administration.

The minister stressed that Ukraine will have enough weapons and resources to continue fighting the enemy until the first half of 2025.

— I think we have enough funds, weapons, missiles and artillery shells to resist at least until the first half of 2025. We will ensure sufficient budgetary allocations for the purchase of ammunition and the necessary military equipment in 2025, Marchenko noted.

He noted that Ukraine is now receiving the necessary weapons from America, which will allow the country to remain well armed at least until the first half of next year.

Earlier, newly elected US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine should prepare for a possible reduction in aid from Washington. At the same time, he noted that he is actively trying to end this war.
