A terrible incident occurred in the town of Aschaffenburg near Frankfurt on the morning of January 22. Thus, a 28-year-old citizen of Afghanistan attacked a kindergarten group with a knife.

A 41-year-old man and a 2-year-old child were fatally wounded. Three more victims with serious injuries are in the hospital. The police assume that the deceased man saved other children from fatal wounds.

The head of the German Interior Ministry reported that the attacker attacked the children with a kitchen knife. Although it was an unexpected and sudden attack, his actions are not classified as a terrorist attack.

In addition, it became known that the 28-year-old citizen of Afghanistan had previously come to the attention of law enforcement three times due to violent actions. Because of this, he was also repeatedly sent for psychiatric treatment. The media did not report what kind of mental disorders the man has.

The attacker was detained 20 minutes after the crime was committed. He is currently under observation.
