Maincast Sport: Ukraine is preparing to launch a new sports channel

This fall, a new sports channel, Maincast Sport, will begin broadcasting in Ukraine. It is being launched by Maincast, a company known for broadcasting eSports tournaments. Accessibility for viewers will be provided by one of the country's leading media groups, Starlight Media.

Maincast Sport channel to appear in Ukraine

The channel will broadcast the most anticipated sports events from Ukraine and the world, as well as studio shows, analytical programs and other content created by the Maincast team. The list of championships and sports disciplines that will be broadcast is promised to be announced closer to the start of broadcasting.

– The appearance of Maincast Sport in the Starlight Media package will give sports fans the opportunity to be the first to watch top sports events not only in Ukraine, but also in the world. And we are glad that this will happen within the framework of our partnership with Maincast, which has already become the undisputed leader in its industry, – said Vitaliy Sperkach, Head and COO of the Pay TV division of Starlight Media.

According to him, the demand for sports is steadily growing, and viewers are striving not only for quality content, but also for the opportunity to see it first.

Now watching

Maincast adds that the decision to move from broadcasting eSports tournaments to classic sports broadcasting was a logical step.

– As a sports fan, I want to make watching as many championships as possible available in the Ukrainian language. We have all the necessary capacities to create a high-quality sports product, – said the company's co-founder and sports commentator Vitaliy Volochai.

Maincast is the official broadcaster of the main tournaments in Dota 2, Counter-Strike and Valorant and owns 90% of the rights to show them in Ukrainian. Starlight Media reaches millions of viewers daily and is one of the largest content producers in Ukraine.

The Maincast Sport channel will be the first joint initiative between the two companies in the traditional sports sector.
