On December 31, Ukrainian special forces from the GUR unit Group 13 carried out a unique operation that went down in history. For the first time in the world, they managed to destroy an air target – an enemy Mi-8 helicopter – using the Magura V5 strike sea drone.

The operation took place in the Black Sea near Cape Tarkhankut, which is in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The Magura V5 drone is equipped with R-73 SeeDragon missiles. This allowed the helicopter to be destroyed.
