At previous stages in the Chinese cities of Xiamen and Shanghai, Yaroslava Maguchikh won, and Yulia Levchenko consistently made it into the top four.

However, in Stockholm, Maguchikh's winning streak was broken for the first time in the last two years, while Levchenko shared fourth place with three rivals.

In Paris, both Ukrainians took to the starting line for the third time this season. Their competitors were star Australians – 2024 Olympic champion Nicola Olislagers and her compatriot Eleanor Patterson, as well as 2024 European Championship silver medalist Angelina Topic from Serbia.

For the first time since winning bronze in Stockholm, Polish athlete Maria Jodzik also took part in the tournament.

For Maguchikh, this arena has a special meaning – it was here in 2024 that she set a world record, clearing the bar at a height of 2.10 m.

Women's High Jump Results in Paris

  • Nicola Olislagers (Australia) – 2.00 m
  • Yaroslava Mahuchikh (Ukraine) – 1.97 m
  • Eleanor Patterson (Australia) – 1.97 m

Yulia Levchenko took 11th place with a result of 1.83 m.

What does this performance mean for Ukrainian track and field athletes?

For Yaroslava Mahuchikh, this is the second consecutive silver medal in the 2025 Diamond League. Before the stage in Stockholm, the Ukrainian last finished the competition in second place in August 2022 in Chorzow, Poland.

Now, for the first time in two years, she has not won either of the two consecutive league stages. A similar situation occurred in June and July 2023, when Maguchikh limited herself to two bronze medals – in Lausanne and Monaco.

As for Yulia Levchenko, her result in Paris was her worst this season and the weakest in more than a year. The last time she failed to clear a height of more than 1.85 m was back in June 2024, also at the stage in Stockholm.
