Lviv will compete for the title of European Volunteer Capital of 2024/ENT Press Service
Lviv will compete for the title of European Volunteer Capital 2024. The city has already reached the final of the competition.
Lviv will compete in the final with the Italian city. The corresponding competition is organized by the European Center for Volunteering.
So, on June 9, the jury of the European Volunteer Capital 2024 competition announced two finalists – Lviv (Ukraine) and Trento (Italy).
Ukrainian volunteers are cool and want to become more better
Lviv maintains close communication with the European Center for Volunteering, integrates into the European volunteer space and promotes volunteering at all levels.
Through the application of Lviv, the organizers plan to show:
- how capable Ukrainian volunteers are;
- young people are willing and ready to integrate into the European volunteer community in order to share their experiences and sort them out for themselves.

The results of the competition will be announced on October 4 in Gdansk, which has the title of European Volunteer Capital in 2022.
Lviv is the humanitarian capital of Ukraine
- Since February 24, about 300 thousand have settled in the Lviv region internal migrants. Of these, 200 thousand directly in Lviv. So the city is equipping temporary housing in modular houses. Now there are already 3 modular towns in Lviv.
- 2-4 people can live in each of the modular houses. Containers are equipped with furniture. And the bathrooms and the dining room are located on the territory.
- In early May, in Lviv, they began to build special houses for pregnant women who had to flee from the regions of Ukraine, where active hostilities continue.
- Recently, Maxim Kozitsky said that Lviv is ready to receive about 22 thousand more people, but, unfortunately, in uncomfortable places: in the premises of schools, gyms and gardens. Places like hotels or sanatoriums are overcrowded. At the same time, Kozitsky emphasized that, despite the place of residence, a person receives food, basic necessities and a bed.
