Lviv city council became Mariupol: how it will cooperate

by alex

The Mariupol Declaration of Solidarity was signed at the Lviv City Hall. Now the Lviv City Council has become the Mariupol City Council.

Adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol Petr Andryushchenko told Channel 24 about this. He noted that Lviv is the cultural and historical capital of Ukraine, and the mayor's office of the city and its head, Andriy Sadovy, from the first days of the war, met Mariupol residents very friendly and provided shelter.

Mariupol Reborn

According to him, logistically, it is very convenient and comfortable for the citizens of Mariupol to be in Lviv with the citizens and city authorities, given that it is here that the Mariupol Reborn platform is being built, from which the restoration of Mariupol begins.

Mariupol Reborn is a cultural, architectural, historical renewal of the city and even our cultural de-occupation. It all starts with Lviv, – said the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol.

He noted that it is very convenient to be in Lviv, because there are international partners nearby, in particular, in Poland and the Netherlands.

“This will be a great platform open to anyone who wants to join in helping to restore Mariupol. We are very happy that this happened and proud that Mariupol is the first city in Ukraine that is still occupied, but is already working on what it will be like after de-occupation,” Andryushchenko stressed.

Mariupol will be different, but better

He noted that the people of Mariupol are very grateful to Lviv for the help – both to the citizens, and to businesses, and to all branches of the Lviv city government.

Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol urged Ukrainians to join Mariupol Reborn.

What will be Mariupol, the townspeople will decide. But this is a great chance for everyone who has a project and wants to implement it. We are happy to help such people. According to our plan, Mariupol will become just such a city where every Ukrainian will be able to realize the most daring ideas in urbanism, culture, architecture, for anything, – he stressed.

Petr Andryushchenko added that it is difficult to imagine what Mariupol will be like in the future. Probably not the same as it was before the war. It will be different, but better.
