Self-proclaimed President Lukashenka said that allegedly NATO is going to attack Russia “through Ukraine and through Belarus”.
Lukashenka was carried away by history, like Putin. And also at the amateur level, he began to read out Operation Barbarossa, which was developed by the German General Marx. So, Alexander Musienko, head of the Center for Military Legal Research, commented on the dictator's statement on Channel 24.
According to him, “Barbarossa” is a well-known operation based on the fact that Germany was preparing an invasion of the Soviet Union through the then Belarus and Ukraine.
Obviously, he is very fond of history and now he is trying to extrapolate this to the present. Just like Putin does. Also in a distorted manner, – said Alexander Musienko.
Threats from Belarus
Alexander Musienko noted that today there are no reports of a threat:
- not from the State Border Service,
- not from the Main Directorate of Intelligence,
- not from the Ministry of Defense,
- not from our partners,
- none of the publications of the leading Western media,
- no independent reviewers.
“From 5,000 to 6,000 Belarusian servicemen are stably stationed on the border with Ukraine, who have not created a strike force. Of course, they behave somewhat provocatively. However, Ukraine is taking all measures to strengthen and strengthen the border,” Alexander Musienko added.
