For the sixth time since the beginning of this year, Alexander Lukashenko visited Vladimir Putin. This happened almost immediately after the meeting between the Russian dictator and the North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un. This gave rise to interesting statements from Lukashenko.

The so-called President of Belarus expressed a desire to join the alliance between Russia and the DPRK. However, such a scenario is virtually impossible. Franak Vyachorka, an adviser to the Belarusian oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, told Channel 24 about Lukashenko's intentions.

Why are meetings held on an ongoing basis

Alexander Lukashenko comes to Vladimir Putin quite often. This is probably due to the discussion of current actions for Belarus, given the increasing number of restrictions from the world community.

“For Lukashenko, this is psychotherapy. He receives the support of Putin, it seems to him that he is in control of the situation, demonstrating to his security forces thatPutin will support himregardless of the situation within the country,” noted Franak Vyachorka.

It is really important for the self-proclaimed president of Belarus to show this to the security forces. They are not afraid of Lukashenko – they are afraid of Putin.

At the same time, Vladimir Putin wants to show that Belarus has been and remains his zone of influence. In the end, the Russian dictator is trying to prove that he did not start the war, but that there is a coalition.

There are several topics that they discuss. First of all, bypassing Western sanctions, because sanctions to Belarus are mainly imposed on exports, and on imports to Russia, noted Tikhanovskaya’s adviser.

Lukashenko’s strange statement

At the meeting, Alexander Lukashenko offered Putin, so to speak, a “friendship for three” – with the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-in. At the same time, even experts say that there is no economic feasibility in this.

“Lukashenko so wanted to get on the front pages of Western media. It is important for him to demonstrate his legitimacy. Maybe there is envy there too. He would like to be a unique ally for Putin and he was upset that he communicated so obsequiously with Kim Jong-un,” Vyachorka suggested.

In fact, it is doubtful that such an alliance of dictatorial countries is possible.
