< strong _ngcontent-sc86="">Belarus became Russia's accomplice in the war against Ukraine. The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, does not hide the fact that he supports Russia in this matter. But he declares that his army will not participate in the war.
Lukashenko gave an interview to the Associated Press news agency. Perhaps the main topic in this interview is Russia's war against Ukraine.
Lukashenka convinces the journalist that he has always been for peace and against war. And the fact that Belarus is not going to participate in this war.
“We do not intend to participate in a special operation of the armed forces of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Because there is no need for this,” Alexander Lukashenko convinces.

It is worth noting that the Associated Press website has so far published only a short version of this interview, where there are no such words. At the same time, this quote by Lukashenka is quoted by the Belarusian news agency Belta with reference to an interview with Associated Press.
Although in the same interview he acknowledged that Belarus is the only ally of Moscow now, while “about 50 countries have gathered around Ukraine.” He also said that “Russia, by definition, cannot lose this war.”
The cynicism of Lukashenka's statement is that it was Belarus that became the springboard from where the Russian army invaded the territory of Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities were preparing for an attack by Russia, but they were not ready for the fact that the attack would also be from Belarus by the Russian army, which had previously been “on exercises” there. That is why Belarus also fell under sanctions. But not like Russia.
In addition, Russia is actively using the military infrastructure of Belarus to attack Ukraine. First of all, we are talking about airfields from where planes flew out to bombard Ukraine.
It was on the territory of Belarus that Russian troops retreated after the defeat in the battle for Kyiv. And from there, Russian marauders sent things that they stole from the civilian population.
Also, rocket attacks were launched from the territory of Belarus on Ukraine. The first of them flew away at 6:20 on the first day of the war – February 24. The Belarusian Gayun project, which tracks the movement of military equipment along the roads of Belarus, found that 671 rockets were fired during the 70 days of the war. This is what they managed to capture. At the same time, the shelling was carried out either in the dark or during cloudy weather, so that it was more difficult to establish the trajectory of the missile and its appearance.
