Head of the Center for Military Legal Research Alexander Musienko told Channel 24 about this. He says that Lukashenka is going to urgently conduct air defense exercises and invites Russia to do it.
The military expert believes that the fact that Belarusians are starting air defense training means that Lukashenko has become afraid of something.
“It is interesting that all this coincides with “cotton” in Crimea, which is why Belarus is so actively asking for air defense systems. This may lead to certain opinions about what Belarus wants air defense so much,” Musienko said.
In his opinion, if we talk about the Belarusian direction in general, then they began to talk about it less, because everyone is already used to the permanent state of military exercises on the border.
But these exercises, in principle, do not lead to the creation of some strike groups that can pose a threat to Ukraine. I am monitoring the situation from various sources, but there is no active change in the situation, everything is stable,” Musienko said.
He says that the same 5-6 thousand soldiers are still stationed at the border Belarusian army, and Russian troops cover “their” military airfields in Belarus.
While the exercises continue, Russia is bringing equipment to Belarus.
