Lugansk region is like a bone in the throat for Russians, they won't get past it – Gaidai

< strong _ngcontent-sc88="">The Russian army in the war against Ukraine does not use the logic to complete the task that it is capable of, but only follows instructions to please the Kremlin. And such decisions become problematic primarily for the invaders themselves.

In Russia, since Soviet times, there has been a tradition to do something before a certain date. And it doesn't matter whether it is realistic to do it, and whether everything will be ready by this time. If there is an order from above, then it must be done, and it does not matter what sacrifices will be made for this.

The war against Ukraine was no exception. Here the Russians constantly threaten to do something before a certain date. As an example – “capture Kyiv in three days” from the start of a full-scale invasion. True, due to the constant “forcing events”, the end date is constantly “transferred”. And sometimes they are simply “forgotten” by the Kremlin invaders and their propagandists.

The situation with the Donetsk and Lugansk regions was no exception. Having suffered a defeat in the battle for Kyiv, Russia decided to focus all its attention on the occupation of these regions as a whole. After all, part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions has been under Russian occupation since 2014.

Now the Kremlin elite has set the task for its army of murderers, rapists and marauders to capture the entire Lugansk region before June 26th. Information about such another “decisive date” was confirmed by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar.

To do this, the invaders need to capture Severodonetsk, after that Lisichansk and go along the highway to Bakhmut. In the meantime, the battles for Severodonetsk continue.

June 26 is an unrealistic date

Head of the Luhansk regional military administration Sergei Gaidai is rather skeptical about the possibility of the Russian army capturing the entire region before June 26.

“As for the dates in general, according to our information, the Russians do not voice any dates. I don’t understand at all where they got the date of June 26. Because there were a lot of dates. We remember momo and “Kyiv and three or four days” , and we will have a parade on May 9. Then on June 10, June 12, when they celebrate the “bottom of Russia”. Many dates were different,” Sergei Gaidai said.

He assured that neither on June 24, when there will be four months since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, nor on June 26 the Luhansk region will be completely under Russian occupation.

“And I can say with confidence that the Luhansk region they will not pass. Today, the Lugansk region is like a bone in their throat, because it is such an outpost, a fortress that fetters a large number of Russian troops. This is the first time. And politically, the Russians cannot fulfill what they voiced a long time ago – a long time ago – to bring the so-called “LPR” to the administrative borders of the Lugansk region. And this is also a big minus for them and a demoralizing factor. Therefore, June 26 is an unrealistic date. They will not be able to pass the Luhansk region until June 26, “Sergei Gaidai assured.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy continues to concentrate his main efforts on the Severodonetsk and Bakhmut directions in order to reach the administrative borders of the Luhansk region. The enemy is trying to establish full control over the city of Severodonetsk, to block the units of the Defense Forces in the areas of the settlements of Borovskoye and Voronovo, hostilities continue.
