Ukraine's number one tennis player Elina Svitolina finished her performance at the WTA 500 grass court tournament in Bad Homburg, Germany, at the 1/8 final stage.
She lost to Brazil's number one seed Beatriz Haddad Maia in three sets with a score of 6:3, 4:6, 6:7 (7:9).

The tennis players spent 2 hours and 29 minutes on the court, during which Svitolina made six aces and made four double faults. The Brazilian had four aces and five double faults.

In the first set, the sixth game on Hadad Maie's serve, which Svitolina took, became decisive. In the ninth game, the Ukrainian converted the set point on the third try.
The second set unfolded according to a different scenario: a tight battle unfolded on the court, but with the score 4:6 in favor of the Brazilian, Elina allowed her opponent to make a break and equalize the sets.
In the decisive set, the tennis players exchanged breaks twice, and the winner of the match was determined by a tie-break, during which Svitolina saved five match points, but still lost.
The loss to the Brazilian ended Svitolina's streak of four appearances in the quarterfinals of WTA tournaments.
Elina Svitolina's next tournament will be the third Grand Slam of the 2025 season – Wimbledon. The main tournament of the grass major will be held from June 30 to July 13.
